Modern downtown company.
Applies data expertise to design, implement and maintain database, OLTP and OLAP structures that derive analytical value from large commercial data sources in Microsoft SQL Server in a heterogeneous data environment. The Business Intelligence Developer will report to the Director of Development.
Responsibilities include:
• Database design (logical and physical) of both warehouse and transactional systems
• Implementation of DB designs in Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL including the use of T-SQL programming (stored procedures, functions, query optimization)
• Design and implementation data integration packages using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, including the ability to develop ETL processes to load data warehouse applications.
• Design and implementation of customer facing and internal analytics solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services or other OLAP/multi-dimensional databases with the ability to create calculated members and KPIs
Qualifications and skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Information Systems or related discipline desired
• Minimum of 8 years of software development experience including a minimum of 3 years of experience with the specific job responsibilities listed above
• Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Desire to be a team player and leader that contributes to the team’s success and company’s growth
• Experience working with SCRUM agile framework
Any combination of the following enhances your profile:
• Report/Dashboard design and working knowledge of a reporting suite such as Dundas or Jaspersoft
• Implementing a master data management program
• Has knowledge or worked with large sets of data and using solutions like NoSQL, Hadoop, or an MPP database system such as AWS RedShift
• Familiarity with third party ETL tools (ex: SSIS, Talend Open Studio, Pentaho Data Integration, JasperETL)
• Programming experience in .Net, Java, Python, PHP
