1866 - Business Architect - Southwest Mpls Sub

This company has been growing 15% per year and will continue to do so creating a lot of opportunities in Information Technology.

• Be an impact player on a high-performing, high profile team
• Take ownership of the continued growth and scale of our business application suite.
• Provide vision and scope to a variety of key capabilities such as Master Data Management, Demand Management, Electronic Data Interchange, Business Architects Reporting Systems, and Vendor Portal.
• Define, develop, execute, and communicate a compelling yet cost-effective project strategy that sets the bar for program development and implementation within a $700M company
• Grow with a company that has already growing at a rate of about 15% per year for the past 3 years and still trending upward!

Required Skills
Our Business Architects are typical capable of demonstrating the ability to:
• Excel as a primary point of contact for business and project teams on successful IT projects related to merchandising capabilities
• Act as subject matter expert for capability/application support teams in order to maintain system functionality and resolve key application issues as they arise.
• Proactively architect and define business requirements and processes in a way that establishes effective and efficient alignment of technical and business goals and activities.
• Lead in the evaluation of business processes and application requirements to ensure high-quality and successful application development takes place
• Apply business and technical acumen to the generation of strategic and tactical recommendations meet the client’s business needs through any given program or project stage
• Prepare accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents and functional specification documents including the documentation and analysis of workflows
• Create effective project/program plans with inherent value propositions that lead to buy-in and sign-off from appropriate business stakeholders.
• Assist with application design and test strategies in a way that improves timely and successful implementation
• Coordinate live beta testing with business teams in order to test, validate, and evaluate new applications/functions prior to launch
• Manage change requests related to the project team plans to meet the agreed deadlines.

Required Experience
The best-qualified candidates will ideally have:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a personal drive to collaborate, commit and be accountable for his or her own work.
• 5 or more years of experience in successfully building relationships that bridge business and technical needs in order to create-new or improve existing software-based business capabilities.
• 5 or more years of documentable success in leading cross-functional teams in a manner that fosters effective teamwork & collaborative problem-solving as well as establishes clear and effective inter/intra-group communication focused on excellence in customer service
• 3 or more years of full-responsibility for project planning and deliverables within a software development setting. This includes: plan, scope, quality, timelines, communication, risk management, etc.
• 2 or more years of experience in establishing application and business processes, applying technologies and meeting IT and corporate goals.
• Ability to demonstrated proactive thinking ability. Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, business process management or related field
• Direct experience with one or more application tools used in the following areas, languages and/or platforms: Master Data Management, Demand and Assortment Planning, EDI Technologies, MicroStrategy Analytics and Reporting, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft SQL and Oracle Databases, SQL Scripting.
