Requirements:- Requires Bachelors Degree (Computer Science or Information Technology preferred)
- Requires 5 years Business Analyst experience, to include analysis and programming in QAD/Progress
- Experience supporting and upgrading QAD MFG/Pro ERP and Progress
- Ability to understand business needs and translate into technical solutions
- Ability to present pros/cons of solution alternatives to business users for good decision making
The job and things important to them:• Someone who can learn alone and be a self starter.
• The job will be 60% Business Analysis and 40% programming in Progress, the language QAD is written in. Will be interfacing with manufacturing personnel as well as executives.
• Want critical thinking skills.
• Will also be given lead roles.
• Must have Progress programming experience and familiarity of QAD. There is QAD Financials and QAD Manufacturing. Either knowledge is OK with them.
• QAD is on Linux.
• They have a very strong DBA and Linux Admin. So, no script programming. DBA does all program migrations. They have change control in place.
• They are upgrading to the latest version of Progress which is 10.1b and 10.2c, both of them. They are currently on Progress 9.1.
• They have 8 more sites to install. They will have 13 sites total installed.
• They have both character and .Net front ends. DO NOT need to know how to program in .Net. This is done by an outside vendor who supplies front end software.
• Will be part of the decision making process of IT.
• Well rounded background a great plus.
• Any experience with bolt apps to QAD a plus.
Other:
• Training is positively encourage. They like to see people go to training once a quarter. Company has been generous with this.
• Company Leaders keep a watchful eye to make sure people have the tools and training to do their jobs.
• Users have been with company for 15 to 20 years. They are very knowledgeable of the QAD. IT does something for them they will do everything they can to help IT.
