Sr. Server Storage Engineer to manage and control issues & changes while ensuring compliance with corporate processes and controls. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented, able to work in a team environment and independently.
• Work with the Service Center to handle customer issues, utilize system control tools such as BigFix and ensure reviewed system implementations for technical completeness.
• Utilize Solarwinds / Orion to proactively monitor and manage Windows Systems; monitor the data centers & remote sites, and perform compliance changes.
• Install new hardware and software according to established templates, provide feedback on improvements to process, and respond to system failures.
• Build and deploy server hardware and operating systems, install ISV software as required.
• Provide administration of a multi-farm VMware server environment with P2V and v-motion
• After hours and weekend work may be required to ensure limited impact to production systems.
Basic Qualifications• Bachelor degree in Information Management, Information Technology, or Computer Science
• 8 plus years of IT experience as a systems engineer to include:
o Configuration of Active Directory, GPO and central management of remote servers.
o Working knowledge of Windows based applications and application connections
o Knowledge of hardware requirements and configurations for IBM, HP, Dell or EMC
o Hands-on experience in managing a multi-tier multi-site server environment including Windows NT, 2000, 2003 and 2008 Standard and Enterprise in both stand-alone and clustered environments
