1811 - Project Manager - Minnetonka, MN

Results oriented IT leader recognized across the IT and Business organizations as having single point responsibility for the management and execution results of assigned projects. The Senior IT Project Manager is entrusted by the organization to lead medium to large scale IT initiatives.

The Senior IT Project Manager engages effectively with IT and business teams in initiating, structuring, managing and directing the successful delivery of IT projects. The Senior IT Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the goals and objectives of the assigned projects are met and ensures that the interrelationships between process, people and technology are defined, managed and controlled.

In this role, you will need to quickly establish technical and project management credibility; exert leadership influence and secure consistent and predictable cooperation of IT and Non-IT senior management and their respective organizations.

Responsibilities:
• Ensuring that the appropriate project management process methodologies are adhered to throughout the life cycle of the project.
• Facilitating regular status and progress reporting on assigned projects as defined by IT Leadership, the CIO, and other governance stakeholders.
• Drive strategic and tactical planning, organizing, resourcing, executing, and controlling of enterprise-wide projects.
• Leading project team and stakeholders in creation and maintenance of the project level roadmap documents and ensures its consistency with business objectives. Maintains continuous alignment of project scope with strategic business objectives.
• Ensure successful execution and results through the management/control of project costs, schedule and scope with established tools, processes and metrics. Consistently applies standard change control processes to the project to ensure proper evaluation, approval and documentation of cost/schedule/scope changes.
• Building relationships and manage communication between the project stakeholders and performing IT teams/organizations.
• Leading the management of project level external vendors. Participate in contract formation and lead the ongoing management of the vendor implementation efforts.
• Instituting and maintaining project level financial controls relating to planning/approval, implementation and ongoing operational support costs. Maintain accurate capital/expense planning and controls throughout the life of the project.

Education
Bachelors Degree

Experience Required:
• 8 years direct project management experience with strong preference for at least 3 of those years being in the health plan industry
• Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships by being flexible and responsive. Must be able to apply excellent communication and listening skills and rapidly switch between tactical and strategic level project influence and process
• Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of the project management discipline including project level financial analysis and control as well as cost/schedule/scope change management
• Strong political savvy with both internal personnel as well as with external partners
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills and ability to manage both customer and vendor expectations related to outsourced deliverables
• Understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies
• Ability to lead the strategic decision making process and facilitate timely decisions
• Demonstrated previous success in building effective cross functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and tightly manage a project in a complex environment with multiple business customers and alliances
• Ability to coach and mentor project managers and other I.T. individual contributors
