The Systems Administrator – Storage position is responsible for design, implementation, and support functions of diverse storage and backup technologies operating in corporate and data center environments. Among the design and implementation duties will be ensuring availability, integrity, and security of SAN storage supporting the infrastructure technologies and backup-restore functionality for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuation purposes. Specific focuses are listed below. Support duties will entail serving as a technical expert for systems management, assisting with root case analysis and problem resolution, performing routine system maintenance, process definition and documentation, integration with change control, and performance tuning.
Candidates must utilize excellent interpersonal communication and project leadership skills while working closely with a variety of business partners and IT teams. Responsibilities will consist of requirements gathering and analysis, assisting business project planning, Vendor management, team cross training, and group presentations.
• Expertise with SAN / Storage: Cisco MDS, EMC VMAX, VG8
• Expertise with Appliances: Data Domain, NetApp
• Expertise with Applications: Cisco DCNM, EMC ESRS - SPA - SRDF/A, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
• Familiarity with Operating systems: IBM AIX, VMWare, Windows 2003/2008
• Familiarity with 3rd Party Applications: Oracle DBMS, SAS, SQL Server
• Familiarity with Hardware platforms: IBM Power Systems, IBM tape libraries and LTO4 tape drives, IBM Series X, HP Blades, HP Proliant Gen 7
