Support the development of propriety Java-based job management system (JMS). The JMS application handles cross-functional workflows including intake, project initiation, work distribution, tracking, proofing, file management, billing and cost assignments, transactional filings with the SEC and pass through to the gateway to Oracle Financials for business units - Legal and Financial Transactions Services (LFTS) and Marketing Communication Solutions (MCS).
This position reports into the PMO, takes project direction from the Project Manager/Scrum Master and works day-to-day with the business and technical stakeholders on communicated priorities.
JMS – multiple releases per year as required by the Product Owner
The Sr. Business Analyst will:Work with internal Business Consultants/SMEs, Quality Assurance, Technical Lead and other project team members as needed to document:
• Requirements in User Story format that have clearly defined and a testable “Done”
• Use Cases if needed to support User Stories
• Solution approach based on development feedback
Essential Job Duties:• Minimize the information gap between Product Owner, stakeholders and the Scrum team
• Understand, define, and document business processes when needed
• Write well-formed, manageable Scrum User Stories with all requirements noted in the “Done” section within MS Team Foundation Server (TFS), sprint tracking tool.
• Ability to understand and re-clarify user stories to team members during various Scrum Meetings
• Create screen layouts to support written requirements when necessary
• Coordinate, track and report on BA efforts for this project
• Partner with the business to establish best BA practice relevant to the program needs
Specific Skills Required • Concise writing skills that clearly details business needs
• Excellent verbal and meeting facilitation skills – ability to effectively communicate with any level of business and/or technical team members in small or large group settings
• Leadership – ability to lead groups or individuals to agreement and/or action
• Client-facing soft skills a must – equaling service principles to external clients
• Business process diagramming – explain process needs in Visio format when required
• Experience with teams consisting of multiple cross-functional stakeholders
• Functional awareness of the IT areas connected to JMS development, i.e. support, infrastructure, network, etc. as they relate to business requirements
• Ability to help indentify, mature and/or implement BA best practice as it relates specifically to the JMS program
• Agile experience – preferably Scrum
