POSITION SUMMARY Working on various performance related activities. Responsibilities include Performance Environment set up, configuration and maintenance. Performance test script creation, maintenance and enhancements. Test plan execution and data collection. Will work independently and as part of a team. Will participate in development and mentoring of Jr. staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collect and document system performance requirements for web based applications.
Maintain Performance environments and related scripts.
Measure and profile system performance characteristics of web based applications. Use industry available tools to produce detailed system performance reports.
Generate application benchmark data and system sizing recommendations.
Assist other members of the Performance Analysis team on various performance activities and tasks.
Identify performance improvement options and communicate to management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge and understanding of Performance Analysis discipline, programming algorithms, scripting and performance metrics.
Working knowledge of industry standard performance measurement tools:
Any of the following: Mercury LoadRunner, Rational Performance Tester, JMeter or other open source tools
Background in system tuning
J2EE Application Server
Java Virtual Machine (JVM)
Operating systems (Unix and Windows)
Database (Oracle / DB2)
Will work closely with the development and performance teams to measure, understand and improve system performance.
