This position will function as part of the PMO. The candidate will lead high visibility, on-going strategic software development projects within the framework of defined best practices.
Candidate RoleThe candidate must have the following skills:
• 5+ years of IT project management experience
• Demonstrated project planning and management skills with working knowledge of project management methodology and large scale software development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills
• Excellent business acumen skills; ability to translate technical terms to business terms
• Ability to work effectively in a professional manner with technology staff, business stakeholders, end users, all levels of management and others outside the organization
• Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrated experience in creating and leading cross-functional project teams
• Ability to simultaneously oversee multiple-related parallel projects
• Experience with leading projects that are part of a broader portfolio or program and coordinating delivery other projects outside of their control or prevue
• Knowledge/experience leading enterprise-class initiatives
• Strong background and acumen in Software Development and Architecture projects, including the design, development, and implementation of Enterprise Architecture/Infrastructure.
• Ability to "get technical" and communicate/understand technical details with analysis and development staff
• Adept at interacting and communicating with multiple constituents at different levels of an organization, from the most senior leadership down to hands-on resources.
• Experience with multiple SDLCs with a focus on RUP/UML along with some exposure to Agile
• Experience providing direction to multiple work streams
• Ability to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Ability to be flexible when working with a new PMO, team members and new PM methodologies
• Attention to detail with a quality focus
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, self-directed. Self-motivated with ability to drive projects
• PMP Certification preferred
• Enterprise Architecture and web development technical knowledge, skills, and background preferred
• Healthcare, background will be helpful.
