1679 - Data Center Facilities Manager - West Mpls Sub

Position Summary
Plan, lead, organize, staff, control and maintain the infrastructure services performed in Tier 2 and Tier 3 data centers (St. Paul & EdenPrairie). Deliver on the service level commitments made to customers regarding the data center’s building, environmental(HVAC), electrical, and security systems. Setup and maintain comprehensive maintenance contracts and schedules facilitating 7 x 24 x 265 operational continuity. Manage the implementation, operation and maintenance of cabling, racking, power, cooling, fire suppression, floor space allocation, security, and fire suppression in the data center. Maintain and develop detailed technical knowledge (mechanical and electrical) relevant to a data center environment, and provide excellent customer communications and rapport. Cooperate with enterprise-wise initiatives for standardizing the practices and methodologies for facility-related Capacity Management and Service Level Management for all data centers.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead and achieve data center facility project commitments and SLA’s (Service Level Agreements). This will require effective communications throughout the organization.
• Be the sole facilities management representative in the Twin Cities data centers, when required. Implied is a need to be “on call” at virtually any time of any day.
• Staff, train, schedule and lead data center technicians assigned to the Twin Cities data center facilities.
• Self-actuated planning and execution of customer and internal commitments.
• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, vendor SLAs, etc. for the Twin Cities data centers
• Oversee as a stakeholder, and collaborate with project management on, major facility project activity, including building remodeling & additions.
• Responsible for planning, managing, meeting/exceeding target budgets, to assure that facility is a profitable enterprise.
• Handle the needs of and communications (written, oral, & presentations) with customers in a professional manner, using their specific business, technological, and IT terminology.
• Provide detailed technical input in the planning, design and development of all electrical, building, controls, security, and mechanical facilities/equipment, as may be required.
• Project a persuasively marketable and high-confidence data center experience in facility appearance and personal engagement. Essentially, help to win the sale and help to keep existing customers’ impressions high.
• Work towards continual improvement in operational efficiencies and have a 7x24x365 awareness and command of data center operations and activities.
• Track capacity and utilization of datacenters, and provide utilization reports and forecasting.
• Maintain through documentation of datacenter systems and connectivity, track inventories of cables and spares.
• Track Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and act upon identifiable trends.
