1671 - ELT Lead - West Minneapolis Sub

The Data Warehouse Developer - Lead combines the role of architect, consultant, troubleshooter, extract, transform and load (ETL) and/or Oracle BI developer into a single position.

1. Oversee the evolving architecture of data warehouse either changing existing warehouse and data mart data models or developing new models to support new or expanded data content.
2. As a consultant, support other IT and business projects assisting the organization to take advantage of data resources.
3. As a troubleshooter, involved in day to day operations of warehouse helping to solve data quality issues and working with database administration to ensure optimal query processing.
4. As a developer, design and develop ETL and/or Oracle BI applications to load and make data available to and it's business partners.

Key Accountabilities
• Creates a robust, sustainable architecture that supports requirements and provides for expansion
• Creates data flow diagrams and logical data models using best practices
• Coordinates multiple architects responsible for development, integration, administration, and evolution of the data warehouse
• Develop standards and processes to insure best practices in development and operations of data warehouse
• Evolves models to meet new and changing business requirements
• Develops processes for capturing and maintaining metadata from all data warehousing components
• Works with business requirements analyst to identify and understand source systems
• Maps source system data to data warehouse models
• Develops and tests ETL processes
• Defines and captures metadata and rules associated with ETL processes
• Adapts ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements
• Maintains effective communication throughout the lifecycle
• Involves IM Team in design changes so that validation can be assessed
• Ensures quality deliverables through unit testing, regression testing and other quality control processes
• Performs/participates in Informatica software upgrades
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required; Master's degree a plus.
• Senior level knowledge of project management, dataflow diagramming and logical data modeling practices.
• Strong understanding or relational data base systems
• Good understanding of business, data requirement, data relationships.
• Advance data management and data modeling training required.
• Five to seven years developing systems supporting multiple platforms and/or experience managing complex data processes and structures.
• Five or more years developing database load processes with Informatica
• Ability to design and develop complex database load and maintenance processes and/or demonstrated ability to design and develop complex Oracle BI Subject Areas or comparable experience with a similar tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, etc.
