Job Description • Develops/Maintains SAP Finance/Controlling (FI/CO) configuration used to meet organization’s on-going information needs. Participates or leads IT projects, requests, fixes, and enhancements, including development and implementation of SAP process design, configuration, systems integration, and master data maintenance.
• Owns the resolution of problems as it pertains to FI/CO configuration.
• Develop and maintain thorough understanding of existing business processes within assigned areas of responsibility, and the information and data they require and generate. Develop and maintain thorough understanding of the SAP application functionality required to make those business processes effective.
• Offers improvement suggestions for increased efficiency through SAP configuration knowledge and serves as the SAP FI/CO subject matter expert.
Job Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or relevant technical degree with 8+ years of experience
• Prefer at least 5 years "hands-on" SAP configuration experience including upgrades, enhancements, fixes and reports
• Strong CO and product costing experience required
• Experience with revenue recognition and project costing, Fx conversions, % complete values and related project accounting principles
• Must have very strong analytical/consultative skills
• Must be able to work with funcational managers and users to understand business initiatives and processes and advise on solutions/options to translate them into effective SAP FI/CO configuration
• Ability to work closely with ABAP resources for customizations and develop detailed specifications
• Demonstrated ability to build quick and effective work rapport with others and to work within a team environment as well as independently
• Strong planning, interpersonal, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Accounting background or experience a plus
• GL experience is desired (especially GL functionality in ECC 6.0)
