Description: Position reports to Director of I.T.
Company is a world leader in sourcing maps and geospatial data from countries around the globe. Web Developer will maintain its current website and be the primary developer for future enhancements and migration to a new platform. The individual we seek will have a solid background in web design, development and maintenance. Experience inserting ‘objects’ into an ‘E-commerce’ Web site fully integrated with a ‘Shopping Cart’ is essential.
They serve libraries, governmental, and corporate clients all over the world. Our customers need rapid access to high-quality maps and GIS data quickly. Providing a fast, effective and stable web platform is a key element to keeping our customers satisfied and in maintaining our position as the leading provider of geospatial data in the world.
Responsibilities:• Responsible for daily administration, support and maintenance of our website.
• Collaboration with Director of Electronic Commerce and other management personnel to envision and create new enhancements to our web presence.
• Work with GeoData, Production, and GPS departments to help import new map data into the system.
• Provide accurate and reliable documentation and code maintenance.
• Work with other IT team members in Minneapolis and Moscow to help provide a high level of IT systems reliability.
• Implement new technology and migrate to new platforms.
Requirements:
• Significant experience building and maintaining websites.
• Significant experience with Microsoft .NET, VB, ASP, ASP.NET, XML, SEO, and E-commerce shopping carts (features, functionality & Integration).
• Good understanding of MS SQL database design.
• In-depth knowledge of MicroSoft Operating Systems.
• Excellent organization, time management, and documentation skill
