JOB SUMMARY:
Performs the critical activities of requirements gathering and analysis, system design, validation, and implementation for software development projects. Effectively teams with project managers and application developers to deliver solutions to business needs. Demonstrates passion for enabling business results via software solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Requirement Gathering and Analysis– 25%
•Analyze current and future state business processes
•Evaluates alternatives and defines a recommended system approach
•Produces deliverables including business process flows; use cases; and storyboards
Software Design and Development – 30%
•Transforms requirements into software design
•Evaluates and configures packaged software applications
•Produces deliverables including database layouts; application modules; and user interface mock-ups
•Documents technical design specifications for software developers/programmers
•Resolve questions and issues during development cycle
Software Validation and Implementation – 25%
•Defines testing cases and scripts
•Perform system testing and leads user acceptance testing cycle
•Executes implementation tasks and ensures successful go-live
•Resolve production problems
Business Partnership – 15%
•Teams with business users to observe and understand processes and issues
•Participates in ideation and feasibility session. Provides feedback on concepts
•Provides day-to-day application support to business users
Other – 5%
•Completes minor software programming modifications
•Attends project and administrative meetings
•Monitor the external environment
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
•Understands and experienced with Manufacturing, Logistics/Distribution, and Purchasing business processes
•Expertise with packaged ERP, MRP, and WMS solutions; custom portals; and custom software development. BPCS or MAPICS or JDE World; IBM iSeries / AS400; .ASP;
•Possesses strong problem solving techniques
•Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple project assignments.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Five to seven years experience within an information services environment. Programming experience desirable.
•Minimal of two years of business analysis experience
•Four-year degree in business management information systems; computer science; software engineering; business; or equivalent
