1607 - Quality Assurance Specialist - Mendota Heights, MN

This is contract to hire position.

Description:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist spearheads end user QA Development efforts for approved development projects. This person will work with development staff and Product Managers to define the scope and effort of the required work, ensure quality and performance, and provide overall guidance to QA and testing efforts.

1. Apply QA disciplines to project activities: testing, change control and the management of environment and any issues arising.
2. Maintain and implement Quality Assurance procedures and activities in support of internal development and external relationships.
3. Maintain process efficiency through repeatable process models, systematic routines, and support utilities/tools.
4. Create and maintain test cases to test software applications to verify conformance with specification and design requirements to comply with business and customer requirements.
5. Assist in development life cycle document reviews as necessary.
6. Work with technology, Product Managers, fulfillment/distribution, customer service and other departments to continually increase the quality of software and implementation.
7. Support release development by enforcing standard on business and technical specifications and ensuring quality of supporting documentation.
8. Identify, analyze, and document defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in the system; verify defects as being fixed.
9. Create test plans and execute tests as required.
10. Familiar with Test Plan, Test Lab, and Defect Management Modules of HP Quality Center 10.0 tool.
11. Able to perform technical testing using sql developer for Oracle database
12. Prepare written reports on test results.
13. Establish and organize lab configurations for functional system testing.
14. Review, test, debug, and document programs.
15. Provide guidance to Product Development team and ensure their work quality.
16. Ensure timely completion of all work.
17. Keep apprised of new tools, languages and technologies.
18. Prepare status reports and participate in administrative meetings.
19. Review all written detailed specifications for Quality Assurance.
20. Other tasks as assigned.

Candidates Should Meet the Following Requirements:
The qualified candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, Masters Degree preferred. This person will have minimum of 4 years testing experience. Written and verbal communication; MS TeamTest Suite, SQL Developer, HP Quality Center; regression testing; detail oriented; and capable of managing multiple test initiatives with conflicting priorities.
