Business:
The business is Electronic Invoicing Solution tailored to the freight industry specifically the freight companies who move goods for the likes of Target, Walmart, US Government, etc. The systems do 15 million transactions per month.
Situation:
The situation is they want to add a strong .Net person who can be a junior Architect who will be the right hand person to the Main Architect for the Freight Payment Systems. This position is thought-technical leader NOT a people leader. So a great opportunity.
The major projects are:
1. Upgrading infrastructure to SQL 2012 R2 and just made the decision to move to SQL Server 2014.
2. Completely upgrading the User Interface. They are upgrading using cutting edge Elastic Search. This person will be working with the business rules layer and the backend. So any SQL experience is a plus.
3. There is one other major project. I will get this info later.
Manager:
Great guy and easy work with and for.
Team:
The whole Freight Payment Systems group has 130 people. The Agile SCRUM team has 10 people and 8 pure .Net Developers . The Sprints are 2 to 3 weeks with releases every month. This group gets a lot of recognition from the CIO for how well they do things and for what they accomplish. This is a solid capable team who sits with the business.
Personality:
The right personality traits are more important than technical skills. They want someone who likes to learn, who stays on top of leading technologies. Have good aptitude and a positive attitude about learning. An individual contributor while being a good team player. Share knowledge and collaborate.
Someone who is truly excited about working with leading technologies and the projects this company is doing. Maturity.
Technical skills:
Strong .Net person with solid C# and WCF. Have some familiarity with C++ because there are a few systems written in C++. If someone has the right personality traits, see above, they will be lenient on the WCF skills.
