Solution Architect will support strategic sourcing and procurement. Solution Architects gain experience in understanding the business and enterprise process strategy, working in ambiguity, developing networks across the organization, and contributing thought leadership and action to help solve challenging problems for the organization.
Supports the comprehensive architecture, functionality, economics and architecture compliance of solution options. Work closely with Enterprise Process Management and business stakeholders to determine requirements for solution planning and development. Develops solution architecture at an enterprise or project level in collaboration with other architects, advisors and subject matter experts from our business units and functional areas.
Work with technical and functional design and bring perspective from all architecture domains (process, application, information, data and security) into the solution design. Ensure solutions developed are aligned to enterprise architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet financial targets (cost and benefits). Accountable for solution evaluation and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the business case.
Solution Architects, as a team, own the development, maintenance and integrity of the enterprise solution architecture encompassing global business capabilities enabled by an SAP centric enterprise application landscape.
Solution Architecture 45% -
- Develops and maintains reference architecture by leading solution definition, solution reviews, and solution selection efforts for the areas of strategic sourcing, procurement, accounts payable.
- Develops and maintains target architecture by leading SAP solution architecture related to procurement capabilities, including SRM, Ariba and other ECC functionality enabling requisition to payment
- Owns integration scenarios between major process areas
- Creates, monitors, and controls process, data and technology solutions, ensuring they are aligned to Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards, quality and principles, as well as meet EA guidelines, common solutions and services are leveraged and that they meet financial targets (cost and benefits).
- Provides subject matter expertise to design, develop, assess and implement more complex solutions (integrated process, applications, data and technology) for business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.
- Collaborates with vendors and other software partners to manage solution roadmaps, strategic direction and impacts related to business units and/or functions. Recommends solution roadmaps and plans to BU/Function leaders.
- Regularly collaborates with enterprise process managers, other architects, analysts, process designers, COE leaders and BU/Function subject matter experts to execute architecture processes and services.
Strategy 35% -
- Assists in developing and championing the enterprise architecture strategy, architecture artifacts and long term solution plans
- Develops and maintains more complex enterprise or project-specific solutions by providing strategic expertise into definition of target or reference architecture, architecture reviews and selection efforts.
- Provides strategic consultation and recommendations for business process design, business intelligence design, software development design, application frameworks, and/or interfaces during the design and ongoing care of solutions.
- Assists in the definition of innovation and solution opportunities based on new and emerging technologies. Independently establishes priorities and strategies, ensuring they are consistent with business goals and economic viability.
- Provides recommendations to assist managers in setting the medium-long term direction, roadmaps and standards for functional, process, and/or technical solutions, ensuring they align to the overall Enterprise Architecture.
- Develops and implements roadmap and timing for major release implementations, including assessment of interdependencies for a portfolio of solutions.
Support 20% -
- Provides support and consultation for detailed design, deployment and production support.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends, and utilizes this knowledge to educate both IT and the business on opportunities to build better target solution architectures that support and drive business decisions.
- Supports the development of new architecture services.
- Drives improvement of architecture methodologies and services.
- Supports implementation, improvements, and proper utilization of architecture tools.
- Ensures the quality of architecture assets, and keeps them up-to-date.
- Develops and maintains architecture metrics
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Management Information Systems; OR equivalent experience
- 7+ years business experience with diverse operational, development and business roles
- 3+ years’ experience designing and/or implementing procure to pay enterprise solutions
- Deep application knowledge of SAP ECC requisition to pay (Ariba and SRM experience desired)
- Experience working on at least one full life cycle SAP implementation, preferably in a global organization
- Working knowledge of SAP’s end to end supply chain solution portfolio with deep expertise within procurement processes
- Experience collaborating with procurement teams to define business requirements and deliver solutions that meet business goals
- Experience in developing integrated solutions involving process, data, and technology
- Experience with business case development
- Overall knowledge of the supply chain management solutions market, including key vendors and offerings, and proven application of market knowledge to deliver supply chain solutions.
- Strong conceptual, strategic thinking, problem solving, technical and analytical skills
- Leadership and interpersonal skills including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
- Ability to influence peers and leadership stakeholders
- Excellent project management, planning and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work effectively within a large organization that operates using matrix management structures
- Knowledge and ability to support: translation of business needs into solution architecture requirements, application of multiple technical solutions to business problems, and estimation of the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives
- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
- Experience working in a global team
- Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20%
- Business fluency in English
