The Opportunity
We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our growing Infrastructure Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for pioneering scalable architectures that support the elasticity required by a growing business. This individual should have a strong technical foundation in areas of systems, networking, storage, and DR. This role collaborates with multiple teams across the organization to help support our fast paced and pivotal business needs.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy new systems and enhancements to existing hardware, applications and operating systems.
- Maintain and administer disaster recovery, network, VMware and storage infrastructures.
- Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
- Perform cost-benefit and ROI analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software and connectivity problems, including user access and systems configuration.
- Maintain all communication systems within the organization including instant messaging, email and voice communication.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
- Perform on-going evaluation of software and hardware to ensure the continued and future effectiveness and efficiency of the platforms.
- Maintain current advanced knowledge of relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment and/or systems and develop implementation strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Applicant must be able to travel to Sartell at least 25%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 4+ years of systems engineering/administration experience. Someone who is an up and comer is ok.
- Working technical knowledge of current IT software protocols, Internet standards, networking, server and storage technologies including:?
- Windows Server O/S.
- Linux O/S.- most important
- Active Directory.
- IP addressing, routing, switching.
- Familiar with VPN, RDP, DNS, DHCP.
- IIS and web application concepts.
- Server clustering and H/A concepts. Pretty improtant
- SaaS, IaaS, PaaS architectures.
- Infrastructure monitoring.
- VMware technologies. Quite important.
- Experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of information systems, applications and related products.
- Experience with systems planning, security principles and general IT software management best practices.
- Experience with Cisco network devices.
Will get work with these technologies. It is OK not to have experience with them.
