Growth company looking to expand and upgrade their IT systems including data bases.
Responsibilities:> Understand of high-availability, heavy traffic web-based platforms
> Deploy and maintain SQL databases, instances and services to meet application and customer needs
> Deployment of new technologies to properly apply system & data resources to business needs based on a tiered data service model
> Lead the upgrade of multiple databases (to 2008/2012) in a planned, well-managed approach with a focus on maximizing continuous operation
> Maintain the software as well as the data structure, integrity, performance, capacity, availability, recoverability, and security of the database information
> Demonstrated ability to examine day to day systems processes and recommend improvements
> Capable of trending observations on system and application failures/bottlenecks and recommending approaches to resolve and proactively prevent them
> Supports the daily operations of the database and servers to appropriately apply resources to ensure integrity and uptime/availability of the customer-facing systems
> Manages relationships with vendor technical support resources to resolve problems quickly and restore service in the event of issues
> Implements effective solutions consistent with the size and scope of the business need
Requirements:> College degree in computer science or equivalent, 4 years experience with Windows SQL Server in customer-facing 24x7 web-base environment
> Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including clustering, load balancing, ETL, architecting, patching, security, maintenance, backups, integrity, partitioning, tuning, etc…
> Understand and ability to help architect & build ODS and BI –oriented schemas & tables
> Ability and excitement to provide innate leadership/innovation on projects & full instance builds
> Perspective and passion to collaborate on architecting a digital market-leading solution
> Excellent trouble-shooting skills that possess technical breadth and depth
> Comfortable working in a flexible team structure yet able to work independently
> Strong analytical skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to think strategically and act tactically
