Responsibilities: • Research, install, administer, monitor, troubleshoot, document, and maintain enterprise databases to ensure maximum availability of mission critical systems and applications.
• Plan, build and execute multiple detailed projects/tasks simultaneously.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Two to five years experience creating, maintaining and administering a production Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 high availability environment.
SKILLS:• Intermediate ability to support a 24x7 SQL Server 2000/2005 production environment, in both a non-clustered and clustered configuration utilizing all associated administrative software tools.
• Intermediate understanding of database design, clustering, T-SQL and related programming languages, backup/restore technologies, replication, DTS/SSIS, MSDTC, full-text search, and security.
• Basic technical design, performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• Intermediate communications skills, including listening, written, spoken, presentation and influencing.
• Basic ability to effectively communicate with business leaders and collaborate with cross-departmental representatives.
• Intermediate time management and organizational skills.
• Basic ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking.
• Intermediate ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic ability to handle multiple projects and manage conflicting priorities.
• Basic knowledge of and experience with the ITIL Framework.
