Responsible for the evaluation, deployment, training and support of information technologies and tools. Assists in directing the use of Information Technology (IT) systems implemented. Responsible for implementing, updating, maintaining and providing training on software and hardware solutions. Responsible for monitoring and supporting client needs and providing a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities: 1. Perform software implementation and maintenance activities.
• Evaluate, design, implement and maintain software to achieve company objectives and information needs.
• Perform analysis, design and software configuration duties.
• Serve as liaison to contracted outside software/hardware service providers.
• Participate in IT project meetings and provide technical advice and leadership.
• Plan and execute technical activities specific to IT systems projects.
• Execute quality assurance activities related to SDLC practices.
2. Assess fit of systems to user needs.
• Work closely with system users to determine and prioritize business applications needs and opportunities.
• Provide input to the IT Systems Manager regarding departmental desires and problems or issues related to systems use.
• Evaluate system specifications for business requirements.
Competencies and Experience:• Five to seven years of experience working with information technology systems.
• Direct experience with
o current Microsoft Windows and Linux client and server operating systems
o database systems such as Progress and MSSQL,
o object-oriented programming languages like Visual Basic, .NET
o script languages like Perl, VBscript, JavaScript
o Win32 and web hosted application services
o Mobile/remote information technologies
• Five years experience with a major ERP package in a manufacturing environment.
• Three years experience with business intelligence solutions (Business Objects, Cognos, SQL Server reporting services).
• Broad business applications knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
