Position Overview: • Responsible for all aspects of supervision of selected staff which includes: hiring/termination, performance appraisals, guidance, objective setting, assign and prioritize work.
• Responsible for Zero downtime and 24x7 support coverage for all Mission Critical databases including Oracle and SQL Server databases
• Able to establish, lead projects, influence and work across different teams, interpret and carry out established policies.
Principle Accountabilities & Authorities:• Ensures all databases uptime and have effective 24x7x365 DBA support coverage.
• Responsible for day to day support and task assignments with in the team.
• Responsible for maintaining DBA Operations Run book.
• Establish, publish and analyze performance metrics & integrity controls to all environments.
• Responsible for supervising and mentoring the team members
• Ensures team follows the Change Management Process for all Production/Mission Critical Systems.
• Responsible for performance, patch management, instance management, Space Management, and operational implementation.
• Responsible for Capacity Planning, performance improvements and unplanned outage reductions.
• Responsible for initiating and presenting all database projects to upper management.
• Responsible for maintaining vendor relationship and renewal of current licenses.
• Partner with all other teams in order to Develop/Support//Implement all business and infrastructures projects and operations.
• Responsible for SOX and PCI compliance
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience:• 8+ years of Oracle Database administration experience is required.
• 3+ years of production DBA experience w/ true 24x7 environment is required.
• Extensive knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL Server 2008 and third party tools.
• Experience of leading Database and Application upgrades is required.
• Experience of leading change management process, projects is preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
