DescriptionAs lead programmer, responsible for the architecture and design for deploying Oracle's UCM and integrating it with custom developed and purchased solutions. Will oversee the work being done by other developers and act as a mentor and serve as interface between the programmers and management.
Leads and participates in new development projects through the entire SDLC including requirements, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance.
• Delegates work and ensure projects come in on time and under budget.
• Serves as technical adviser to management and provide programming perspective on requirements.
• Proactively communicates about, and coordinates activities with Business units, IT Production, Infrastructure and other members of the Development team.
• Coordinates the development efforts of multiple team members on larger projects
• Provides design oversight of all custom application development to ensure that the system architecture utilizes appropriate technologies, and leverages existing applications and IT infrastructure
• Leads periodic efforts to refine and improve the processes.
• Manages the development toolset and environments to ensure operational performance and team productivity
• Mentors developers on development, design, and architecture best practices. Organizes periodic training sessions for this knowledge transfer.
Performs and collaborates on System Life Cycle Development and Quality Assurance• Performs sufficient systems testing to ensure high quality results
• Makes periodic presentations to business leaders on emerging or enabling technologies that could impact operational performance or product strategy.
• Evaluates and reports on options for addressing business enhancement requests or improvements to the technical environment
• Keeps abreast of current and emerging software development and deployment products and tools by attending in-house and/or external courses, and lead technical system reviews
• Consults with business leaders to understand operational requirements & strategic direction. Using the language of business, explain current technical capabilities and limitations, potential options and high-level costs.
Minimum Education:• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or Engineering/Business with an emphasis in Information Technology or equivalent exp.
Minimum Experience:• Six years technical experience in software development
• At least 2 years advanced J2EE application architecture
• Experience with relational databases and object-relational mapping required.
• Proficient using Agile, RUP and UML.
• Requires ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lead teams in complex development projects is needed. Fundamental project management experience and full technical knowledge of all phases of project development.
