Responsible for web-based product strategy and development of web-based applications for the company. Responsible for maintenance, enhancement and growth of product lines, training, product analysis, assisting with strategic business plans and the management of staff as appropriate. Manages the definition, design, development, launch and ongoing support of products for various departments.
As this position evolves with business growth, supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Job Responsibilities
' Assist in authoring and implementing annual product development strategic plan for the business unit and contribute to long-range planning and budgeting.
' Develop business case for new products and write proposals.
' Manage the product development relationship between corporate and remote web hubs.
' Manage and implement the integrated web services delivery for key product initiatives, business units and third parties.
' Define product requirements for new products and product enhancements. Identify, specify and prioritize features and capabilities for existing products.
' Define requirements for implementation tools, reporting tools, and administrative tools that reside on various database platforms.
' Work with development teams to determine requirements and scheduling for new content and revisions.
' Provide input to other Product Managers for product planning, concept screening, feasibility assessments, and product definition.
' Prepare requirements documents detailing features, functionality, and user interface.
' Establish and oversee beta and pilot programs.
' Assist sales representatives in developing custom solution strategies for potential clients and provide new-product and product-change information.
' Stay apprised of market, industry, regulatory, technical, and competition trends.
' Identify regulatory/accreditation standards and ensure they are met (e.g., HIPAA, URAC, NCQA, etc.).
' Understand costs and monitor and manage product development budgets.
' Report at least monthly to the Product Development Director on product line financial performance, milestones and issues.
' Determine design and content of product documentation (e.g., manuals, release notes).
' Support Sales staff on key sales opportunities to provide product expertise and technical support to the sales effort.
' Develop and maintain easily accessed product information resources for Sales.
' Act as one of the liaisons with other business units regarding specific product requirements as they relate to key development initiatives.
' Assist in the development and implementation of product update strategies.
