Core Responsibilities are:• Troubleshooting database issues
• Logical and physical database design
• Table, Trigger, Store Procedures, Views design, development and deployment using SQL on Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
• Database configuration and installation planning through implementation
• Maintaining, managing and monitoring multiple databases
• Database security management and monitoring
• Developing database backup and recovery routines
• Conducting database performance monitoring and tuning
• Contributing and Establishing Database standards, policies and procedures
• Create, Review and produce migration scripts of database objects from development through production environments
• Assisting Application Developers for Table, Trigger, Stored Procedure and view development
• Working with Configuration Team, Team Leads, QA and several Business Units for smooth database rollout.
• Off-hours production support is required as and when needed.
• Supporting Dev, Test, UAT, Production and DR environment
REQUIREMENTS:• Solid Microsoft SQL Server 2005 experience
• Proactive, positive attitude, quick learner and must be a strong team player
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work independently with minimal or no guidance.
• At least 5 years of logical and physical database development experience.
• 5-10 years of writing SQL scripts for database, tables, stored procedures, triggers and views creation and migration. (T-SQL, BCP, DTS etc.)
• 5 – 10 years of performing SQL Server production database administration in a clustered 24/7 OLTP environment with an emphasis on tuning and optimizing production databases for high availability & optimum performance.
• 3 years of SQL Server replication and log shipping experience in production environments.
• Experience with Enterprise Data Modeling techniques and tools such as Erwin
• Experience working with both production support and development resources to implement and administer custom .NET and ASP applications. This includes development or execution of production migration scripts and troubleshooting of high availability environments.
• Strong Database Troubleshooting skills
• Basic understanding of SDLC
