Leverage your C++ and SQL experience to learn new technologies!

Situation:

A company is embarking on a multi-year game-changing set of initiatives to rebuild all of their core software & infrastructure systems from the ground up and establish a leading-edge digital-, data-, and process- driven workplace and suite of products and services.   This is coming from the Board of Directors.  The company is growing and the money is there.  The company has been in existence for 25 years.

Must have skills for this position:

• C++
• TSQL is critical.  There are a lot of stored procedures.  The more the candidate knows about SQL Server the better.
• Ability to learn and a strong interest to learn new technical things.

The current system is C++ TSQL on SQL Server

Over the course of a month the position will spend half their time supporting the current C++ TSQL system and the other half of their time working on the new package/system and development in the new technology.  They have not selected the package yet so the replacement technology is unknown at this point.  It will likely be .Net or Open Source.  The time supporting the old C++ TSQL system will work its way to 0% in 12 to 18 months.
