Major bank has a Capital Markets Trading Division.
Situation
Adding a position to the team that supports the servers for the Trading Applications.
The Role
Will be on the team that supports the installation, configuration, tuning and maintenance of real time electronic Trading Applications from companies like Sungard and MT4. Be a technical expert addressing system integrations, compatibility and monitoring. 24/7 on call rotation. A call for support happens about every 2 to 3 weeks. When the calls come they come between 2AM and 5 AM of the trading day which is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. No calls come on a Holiday or weekend because no trading takes place on those days.
The Manager is very good about having people go home early when there was on call support.
Will lead and participate in quarterly disaster recovery exercises.
