1926 - Sr.SQL DBA - Minneapolis, MN

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for administering scalable database technologies which supports exponentially growing advertising network. 
• Lead database administration efforts including performance tuning, capacity planning, security, backups and general monitoring
• Review software engineers’ database changes and make recommendations to adhere to department’s security, performance and coding best practices
• Lead the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and administration of SQL and NoSQL database systems
• Provide proper infrastructure for how we collect, analyze, report and maintain product data
• Help establish consistent data standards throughout the organization
• Hands on engineering using technologies such as Cassandra, SQLServer, SSIS, SSAS
• Accomplish database administration tasks during off-peak production incidents when necessary
• Provide performance and forecast reports on the health and load of critical business processes to help ensure applications are highly saleable and the infrastructure has adequate capacity
• Key administrator of security and audit processes surrounding all company data and data management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Cassandra and Hadoop
• Lead support operations related to data warehousing including, ETL job maintenance, administration and data warehouse backup and recovery

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline required.
• 5+ years related experience required
• Must have solid experience with any of the following: SQL, MDX, MS SQL Server, Cassandra, Hbase, MongoDB, Hadoop, SSIS, SSAS, Python, Amazon AWS etc…
• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and run technical design sessions independently
• Experience supporting distributed systems
• High level of Linux and Windows Server proficiency (as a power user and administrator)
• Experience with database replication and scaling issues
• Strong understanding of storage subsystems and system architecture
