Assure quality by finding discrepancies, bugs and issues before the production phase. Responsible for all aspects of code-based testing of software products. Report to the Director of Development.
Responsibilities include:
• Produce, review and communicate test strategies for delivered solutions
• Plan, design, code and execute functional tests
• Design and develop solutions and frameworks for test management, execution and reporting
• Build and maintain automated test sets for efficient regular execution
• Test, troubleshoot, question and critique software components, interfaces and procedures
• Work directly with development resources to provide actionable feedback aimed at proactively improving engineering practices resulting in the delivery of high quality solutions
• Provide expertise to Business Analysts and UX resources to produce high quality acceptance criteria in the Agile story generation and refinement process
• Design, track and communicate quality metrics
• Clearly and effectively report on the progress of projects assigned
• Work with internal and external users to triage, reproduce and describe issues encountered with product during all lifecycle stages
• Design and implement solutions to measure the performance, scalability, and durability of enterprise scale application deliverables
• Provide technical colleagues with actionable input for meeting scalability, performance and durability goals
• Work with technical colleagues to provide sizing and configuration guidance
• Research, design and implement security testing solutions
• Provide guidance and mentoring to colleagues and management around topics germane to professional Quality Assurance practices and tools
Following qualifications opens the door:
• A passion for product quality
• BA/BS degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
• At least 10 years of experience as a Software tester
• At least 5 years of experience producing and maintaining automation frameworks for ongoing product validation using CodedUITest, QTP, Selenium or an equivalent package
• Direct work experience validating the operation and results of ETL data processes
• Direct work experience with performance and scalability testing
• Direct work experience with security testing
• Experience testing enterprise scale, commercial, web based applications
• Familiarity with unit testing
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good presentation skills
• Curiosity about how things work
• Fearless when testing
• Not afraid to stand your ground and fight to get errors fixed if you believe it negatively impacts the success of our product
