Wiki development - How Cool!!

Reports to the Sr. Director of IT. Develop application front ends to meet evolving needs. Involved with creating and modifying interfaces for our content management systems. Will also be introducing new technologies to meet our growing needs to capture and present information effectively to our internal services. Assist with creating interfaces to provide information to internal and external constituents through reports and web portals.

Activities include creating forms current CMS, researching alternate CMS opportunities to meet new needs and creating innovative web interfaces and wikis.

1. Develop extensions to current CMS interfaces:
a. Create forms and assessments
b. Prioritize and respond to tickets
2. Develop solutions in appropriate technologies to meet our evolving needs:
a. Web interface additions to existing web sites
b. Web interfaces to SQL system of record
c. Wiki development for unique solutions
d. Open source and private CMS development for new solutions
3. Be a source of new ideas and effective solutions
4. Engage our internal customers to establish needs and bring forward unique solutions
5. Deliver effectively within an Agile (particularly SCRUM) process. Including:
a. Daily SCRUMs
b. Bi weekly Sprints, Demos and Retrospectives
6. Prioritize and respond to tickets effectively
7. Assure understanding of client and customer end results needs. Assure this through:
a. Shadowing customer work efforts
b. On going engagement with customers and product owners
c. Promoting possibilities that may not have considered for achieving requested results
d. Consistent collaboration throughout the process of development to assure that all needs are being taken into consideration
8. Keep commitments with quality deliveries and robust releases
9. Provide proactive warnings when issues arise

Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT related field. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Experience in a variety of front end development technologies. Examples:
a. Private Content Management Systems (CMS)
b. Open source CMSs
c. Web development: HTML 5 - CSS 3
d. Wiki development
e. Scripting development a plus: Python, macros, …
•Effective at engaging non-technology savvy clients and translating their needs into quality results.
•Experience working in Agile methodologies particularly SCRUM in an IT development environment is a plus
•Excitement for the mission of serving those most in need and finding ways to use technology to help them more effectively.
