1896 - Quality Assurance Contractor - Minneapolis, MN

You will be part of a team that proactively assists in the definition of test cases and quality planning and follows Quality Assurance guidelines during the software development process.

Responsibilities:
*Analyze functional specifications
*Plan and execute functional and regression tests that efficiently cover the requirements and uncover errors, or that efficiently retest defects.
*Provide estimates of work efforts to project stakeholders.
*Perform exploratory testing.
*Identify and set up test data requirements.
*Document defects in the defect management system. Bug reports are at a level of detail to be understood by the development team.
*Report status of work to the project stakeholders.
*Participate in requirements and product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems. Proactively point out areas of improvement in requirements or design.
*Support other department needs for testing or troubleshooting (for example, Support or Operations).
*Participates in and often leads process improvement efforts within QA and Development.
*Mentors and oversees the work of QA Analysts and Associate QA Analysts as assigned.

Desired Skills, Education and Experience:
Strong grasp of the software development lifecycle, both for Waterfall and Agile.
• Strong grasp of functional and integration software testing techniques.
• Understand end-user process flow in multiple areas.
• Understand database table structure and queries. Able to create complex joined/nested SQL queries "from scratch" and correctly evaluate their outcomes.
• Experienced with exploratory testing.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills with attention to detail and quality.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and Word.
• Fluent proficiency with the English language in written and spoken form, including terminology related to the long-term care field and the testing job, and the ability to discuss issues and concepts with technical and business personnel. Ability to provide both detailed information and summarized information for management.
• Exceptional time management/ organizational skills/ handling of unplanned tasks/ ability to meet monthly objectives/openness to take on additional and undefined projects.
• Experience with automation preferred.
