Create data bases in the Health Wellness sector.
Sr. DBA, is responsible for maintenance and administration of production and non-production environments as well as database administration for additional third party and in-house developed applications. A technical resource for administering, maintaining, developing, and implementing, policies and procedures to ensure database, application and data security.
Responsibilities:? Deploy .NET applications or similar (compiled pages/DLLs and execution of SQL scripts against a relational database system) to various web-based environments (staging, client acceptance, testing, production, etc.)
? Manage support responsibilities including on-call support and periodic maintenance.
? Ensure proper installation of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server, whether manual installation or an unattended method to include patch deployment.
? Install and deploy databases. Create installation scripts and uses pre-made scripts to upgrade and install databases to include table indexes, stored procedures and initial data.
? Create review and direct backup plans. Work towards finding the best solution and creates a backup schedule around that plan. Raise issues to management identifying vulnerabilities as it relates to data and database management.
? Control physical implementation of data and assist with data models and data inside the tables.
? Test disaster recovery scenarios. Perform regular random drills to test the backup plan and the integrity of backups of databases.
? Manage replication, cloning and data refreshes.
? Manage security, determine how much access applications will need to databases and acts as gatekeeper of database access. Manage documentation of all accounts and related access rights.
? Provide production performance tuning at the physical layer by tuning the file structure and organization, scheduling index rebuilds and any hardware type decisions as related to the database needs.
? Oversee the creation of scripts for SQL Server to automate imports, updates, and migrations and to create similar processes in Oracle for loading and scrubbing data.
? Review daily backups, memory usage and CPU utilization for Production and Staging database servers. Provide monthly reports to the Director of Technology with these statistics.
? Collaborates with the Database Developer to provide training for staff on the use of new features and functionality with each new version or update of Oracle and oversees similar activities for SQL Server (i.e., XML, etc).
Required? Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related technical field
? 3+ years of related experience and/or training are required for this position.
