Senior Data Storage Specialist with capacity planning and support experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. This position is responsible for design, implementation, and support of Distributed Storage solutions, ensuring high performance, protection, availability, and simplified management of large, complex, storage systems and networks.
This position is to manage and maintain the integrity of the enterprise NAS environment, as well as, data backups and restores across 10,000 servers and storage devices. This position is one of many in a group that focuses on: IP storage management, backup application administration, infrastructure design, and disaster recovery for data that resides on distributed systems across the company. EMC storage solutions (Celerra, VNX, Isilon, Data Domain), along with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager and Avamar for backups, are used today across a variety of operating systems and applications.
Job Responsibilities? Design, implement and manage NAS environment using EMC's IP storage technologies
? Provide level 3 support on CIFS/NFS related performance or failure issues
? Configure and implement backup application on servers & clients
? Maintain backup application integrity by performing periodic upgrades, configure changes, and technical support
? Provide level 3 support on backup failures and data restores
? Stays informed of current and emerging technologies and trends related to IP storage and data protection
? Participate in the planning, approval, and implementation of NAS and backup related changes
? Perform root cause analysis and present permanent solutions for NAS and backup related activities
? Participates in new technology evaluations, product upgrades, hardware refreshes, data migrations, and application/hardware patching
? Periodically prepare statistical analysis for business quality reviews related to the health of the environments
? Participate in 24/7 oncall support
Skill requirements- BSCS, Bachelor of Science - Computer Science or BS, Bachelor of Science
- 3+ years of NAS administration
- 3+ years administration experience
- 4+ years experience of SAN/NAS administration.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Proficiency with NFS and CIFS protocols
- Able to work collaboratively with other technical staff.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement
