You will be in a technical and managerial role which involves managing the efforts of the JD Edwards CNC and iSeries Systems Engineering. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented, able to work in a team environment and independently.
You will:• Provide effective leadership for day to day operations and design improvements to the corporate ERP systems, resource and team planning for quality service delivery, and collaboration with IT and other teams to develop solid solutions for corporate processing
• Manage the hardware and software environment as well as the integrity, structure, performance, capacity, availability, recoverability and security of the server environment
• Work with application development teams to control code and structure migrations into production, identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions and provide direction to optimize the utilization of resources
• Make observations on system and application failures/bottlenecks to recommend approaches for resolutions, and handle incident escalation and demonstrate skill-set with trending
• Manage relationships with vendor technical support resources to resolve problems quickly and restore service in the event of issues
• Implement effective solutions consistent with the size and scope of the business need
• Supervise and mentor team to ensure compliance to standards, proper resource development approach, and process execution
• Define and manage EnterpriseOne (9.0.2, 8.12, and XE) environments on multiple IBM servers
• Design and maintain Object Configuration Manager (OCM) Database
• Ensure the effective operation of all interfaces between EnterpriseOne and third-party applications
• Delegate daily operational procedures for execution
• Install and maintain the AS/400 Infrastructure including operating systems (version 5.4-7.1), ISV software in a multi-datacenter LPARed environment using virtualization
• Respond promptly to and handle escalations from the IT Service Center or IT Operations for system issues
• Capacity planning and Performance Tuning skills within iSeries and Wintel environments
• Propose new ways to leverage multi-site multi-tiered data center environments to maximize their capabilities and capacities
• May be asked to work outside normal business hours to ensure service availability
Basic Qualifications • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems or computer engineering
• Minimum of 10 years experience with Oracle's JD EdwardsTM XE, 8.12 and 9.0.2
• 3 years of supervisory experience
• Knowledge of IBM technologies: clustering, patching, AD security integration, IASPs, Flashcopy, Global Mirror and MIMIX
• Experience with HA systems including IBM-HA and MIMIX replications including Disaster planning and recovery
