Contract goes through December 31st, 2010. This could become a full time employee position January 1, 2011.
This is very nice environment to work. We have place several contractors and full time employees and they all liked the environment.
They are a fast growing company in the health care space.
Director sees the job:Overview:
• Great opportunity for growth for an individual.
• They have several Product Areas. Within each Product Area there are projects. Every year there are 3 or 4 projects in each Product Area. It is these projects that the Business Analysts work on.
• Start doing true business analyst work gathering functional requirements. This gives the person an understanding of the Product and the People and how the business works. After 4 or 5 months, the person will grow to do more project management work becoming a leader in the area.
Other Info:• Will work with 3rd party vendors from across the US.
• They have users spread across the US.
• Because the vendors and users are spread across the US, this person will be very virtual using email and instant messaging and telephone.
More detailed info:• Overview: most business analysts start as a business analyst then will grow to include project management in their business analyst work. From a high overview this is what they are looking for in responsibility progression.
• Wants someone who has at least 5 years experience.
Business Analyst:
• Understand Software Development Life Cycle
• Can explain a methodology such as Agile or Waterfall
• Able to work with users to create the vision scope gather the business requirements, create process flows. They use Visio to create process flows.
Project Management:
• Can lead
• Manage a budget
• Manage conflict
• Organize Tasks
• Facilitate Meetings
• Manage people as a project manager
Web knowledge:
• Web knowledge is NOT and absolute must but a BIG nice to have
• Understand HTML, JavaScript, Flash. Do NOT need to know how to code, just understand how it works.
